Can a shaman heal heroic instances?

can a shamn be the MAIN heals for a standard group in a heroic instancE? I know chain heal is suppose to be pretty good. i have no shamen, i'm just curious. Also i think its good descussion/argument. shamen , druid, pally, priest..I would think pallies and priests are pretty close as main healers, but it seems like the pallies have the advantage of plate (incase they pull) and a couple other things that can save a group from a wipe better. DISCUSS!

Anderson, SC    Yup, but gear has to be good, tank has to have decent gear. WoA, and other totems are nice to have.

I prefer shaman healers over anything on heroic sp. Last boss is cake with a shammy, regardless of spec. Long as they drop poison cleansing totem.

I've gone through all the lesser "hard" heroics with a Shaman main healing. Havent tried CoT, or Shadow lab/Shattered halls yet, the rest they do fine. Just requires a lot of drinking -_-

Every heroic can be healed by all healer classes, as long as they're spec'd and geared and skilled appropriately.

Yes, shamans can heal heroics.

I have a level 70 resto shaman and she's healed a number of heroic instances to date. Gear and enchants are important though and she has some decent healing gear. It also help to heal people who know how to play their toons.

The resto druid (haha yes, I said *the*... f'in healers thinking they should tank) in my guild does fine with any heroic we've been through. Just stay out of tree form.

a resto druid heals for Excelsior, at least 1 per raid for many fights (They are on BT/Hyjal), and there are plenty in other guilds, and a ton that PvP.

There's a reason. Ferals bring so much more to the table than restos do, you're almost hurting your raid by doing so. Granted, I'm not saying Resto's unviable...but with how much you could be doing as Feral...well...you can't blame people for switching.

The best healer in our guild is a resto druid. His hots make Moroes' garrote a complete non-issue. Really, he heals everything very well. And, yes, he's constantly complaining that he'd like to switch to feral, we just won't let him.

We're all about diversity in our 25-mans. Our three regularly raiding druids are one of each (feral tank, resto, and moonkin), though when we're short on healers the moonkin respecs to resto. Another druid who raids with us almost as much is feral dps.

Don't mix Heroic and RAID.

A paladin or a priest have much more ease to heal in heroic then a druid.

Druid HOT are amazing if you have enough +heal... but there slow healing makes them quite inappropriate for big damage on one shot.

i heal them all the time with my resto shaman. been doing it since i was at 1k to healing. now that i'm at 1.5k, it's even easier.

knowing your totems and when to use what helps. (seems like an odd statment, but not as odd as all the shamans i've grouped with who never, or rarely use them. and know i'm not the only one that has seen this.)

As a recently switched feral-from-resto druid, I can assure you, all heroics can be healed by a resto druid, in tree form, with ease. Providing the druid is not a moron.

The only difference is there's a lot more regrowth spamming involved in healing heroics, which means more drinking. That's it.

Regrowth + swiftmend + regrowth = perfectly mana efficent opener with a ton of healing very fast. Then full hots up, and then spam regrowth if necessary. Cake.

Have you seen any shadow spec priest do good healing in heroic instances? I just wonder if there is any.

Would have to be a very well geared group overall for that to even have a chance, and a 2nd healer on bosses.

As a healer? Not really. But, I guess if you geared yourself out to sheer hell, maybe. Frankly, if I had a shadow priest in my heroic, I'd intend for them to be shadow DPS, not healing.

Its like using a screwdriver to hammer nails into a 2x4.
